Loadmac is the only manufacturer of truck-mounted forklifts to design, engineer and build a range wholly dedicated to the UK materials handling sector. It is a strategic decision, which has resulted in an increase in sales – up by 800% year on year, proving the Country likes having its own dedicated range.
Other brands available in the UK are predominantly designed with the USA or Germany in mind – where, particularly in the case of the USA, there is a call for bigger, more cumbersome machines. By being bigger, such machines are naturally stable – but their size reduces payload and make the host vehicle less easily controllable - they are also less stable in compact or space restricted environments.
By developing a range of extremely powerful, shorter, lighter truck-mounted forklifts, Loadmac is managing to drive the truck-mounted concept even further – combining intelligent, innovative design with first class engineering and build skills.
Further more, virtually no other market in the world has such a damaging and corrosive road environment. Large amounts of road salt combined with a no freeze environment means road salt can remain damp and corrosive for several months at a time. Much colder environments that are drier, can actually be less corrosive to vulnerable truck-mounted forklifts.
A salty damp environment won’t just affect bodywork. It can also damage sensitive operating equipment – except Loadmac has cleverly protected vital electrics in a marine style box – corrosion proofed and sealed. Body panels are manufactured to an anti corrosion specification for added protection and adding to the machines overall life.
The UK legislation sensibly considers the truck-mounted forklift to be part of the host vehicle’s load, and not part of the vehicle. It is therefore easy to integrate a truck-mounted forklift into a logistics package and deliver all the value added benefits of this proven method of materials handling. The road haulage industry in the UK has remained responsible in demanding that the host vehicle, trailer and the truck-mounted forklift performs safely, that it is stable, brakes, steers and corners in all circumstances with or without its load. Addressing this issue, Loadmac has used its designers ingenuity and knowledge to deliver machines which allow the host vehicle to handle perfectly - because of the compact weight and dimensions of the machine – but without loss of lifting capacity.
